Why use a glass jump guard instead of pond netting?

Netting sags, discolours, and traps leaves and debris exactly where you need to see into the water. A glass jump guard sits flush to the pond edge, stays clear, and does not need replacing every season the way netting typically does.

How high does a pond jump guard need to be?

Genuinely, it depends. Koi and larger goldfish can clear more height than most pond owners expect, particularly when startled or during spawning behaviour in spring. 200mm is a reasonable starting point for most garden ponds, with 300mm or 350mm better suited to deeper ponds or known jumpers. There is no fixed industry standard yet, so we can cut to any height from our 120mm minimum upward.

What size jump guard can I order?

Panels are made to order up to 3000mm in length, with a 120mm minimum height. Length is rarely the limiting factor. Larger pond perimeters are simply supplied as multiple sections.

Do I need to drill into my pond edge to fit a jump guard?

No. Posts, D clamps, and corner clamps all hold the glass securely without pre-drilling.

Which fixing method should I choose?

It depends on the pond edge. Posts suit a jump guard standing independently of the wall. D clamps fix directly to an existing edge or panel. Corner clamps handle a change of direction without needing an extra post.
